Sophism

The lies we tell ourselves,

form foundations.

Haphazardly laid,

so we may function

in a world

that lacks truth

and meaning.

Though we claim

it is solid,

on occasion

It is exposed

brittle,

damaged by time

and exposure,

until inevitably

comes collapse.

Among the ruins,

we stagger blinded,

dazed and confused.

Though soon enough,

We are forced to rebuild

using all that came before

to construct

a new narrative,

until time tests us,

once more.
